(¤ 1858, † 1944) Dermatologist, working in Hamburg, Constantinople, Kiel and other places 1883 doctorate at the University of Erlangen on the subject of "The treatment of clubfoot". Since 1889 professor at the Ecole impériale de médicine in Constantinople. In 1889 he was awarded the honorary title "Pasha" there. On 28.10. 1902 he was appointed as an extraordinary professor for skin and venereal diseases at the University of Kiel. On 10.03.1906 he left the university out of annoyance over the refusal to grant a "Finsen-Lampe". At that time the Finsen lamp was used for the treatment of cutaneous tuberculosis. He then went to Dresden-Weißer Hirsch, later to Baden-Baden and Homburg. v. Düring died on 23 February 1944 in Frankfurt/Main.
