Careful cleaning of the auditory canal. Insert gauze strips with alcoholic or other antiseptic additives such as polihexanide (Serasept, Prontoderm, eosin disodium solution, ethanol containing 0.5/1/2% ) or methylrosanilinium chloride solution. Later, gauze strips with antibiotic-containing ointment/cream, e.g. gentamicin cream 0.1%(gentamicin cream 0.1%) are inserted.

In severe cases penicillinase-resistant penicillins such as Dicloxacillin (e.g. InfectoStaph Kps.): Dosage: Adults: 2-3 g/day p.o. in 4-6 ED; children: 2 g/day in 4 ED. In case of severe infections doubling of the dose is possible.

If necessary, use analgesics such as paracetamol (e.g. ben-u-ron Supp. 2-3 times/day 125 mg each for infants, 250 mg for toddlers, 500 mg for children, 1000 mg from the age of 14).

Remember! In case of recurrent furunculosis exclude diabetes mellitus and immunosuppressive diseases!
