(¤ 1842,  1900) English surgeon and dermatologist. Born and raised in London; medical studies at the University of Aberdeen. 1864 medical training at St. Thomas' Hospital. Doctorate in 1868. 1869 appointed "fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons". Anderson later lived for a long time in Japan, where he worked as a "medical officer to the British Legation". 1880 Returned to St. Thomas Hospital, where he worked as a surgeon. 1887 Anderson changed to the dermatological department. In 1898, at the same time as the German dermatologist Johannes Fabry, first description of the Angiokeratoma corporis diffusum named after Anderson and Fabry.
