Imidazolidine compound used for the treatment of thrombocytosis. Anagrelide reduces the number of platelets formed in the bone marrow and brings them back to normal levels. Anagrelide is used in the therapy of thrombocytosis, which occurs in patients with myeloproliferative diseases. These include: essential thrombocythemia, polycythaemia vera, chronic myeloid leukaemia and osteomyelofibrosis.
