Pca ethyl cocoyl arginates (inci)

"PCA" is the acronym for the synthetic 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid (pyrroglutamic acid), "ethyl" usually refers to ethanol (ethanol, ethyl alcohol) as the alcoholic component, "cocoyl" the fatty acid components consisting of fatty acids from coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil), "arginate" salts/esters of arginic acid.

PCA ethyl cocoyl arginate is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance mixture acts as a surfactant (washing-active substance/improves the even distribution of the products during application), antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, e.g. of hair) and as a moisturizing substance.
