Palmitoyl hydrolyzed collagen (inci)

"Palmitoyl" means the univalent radical derived from palmitic acid characterised by the loss of the hydroxy group, "hydrolyzed collagen" means hydrolysed liquid collagen. Palmitoyl hydrolyzed collagen is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as a surfactant (washing-active substance/improves the even distribution of the products during application), antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electric charge on the surface, for example of hair), emollient (makes the skin smooth and supple) and washing-active substance.
