Oryza sativa extract, the extract from the rice grains, is used in cosmetic formulations. The extract acts as a skin care agent, hair conditioning agent (makes hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume), swelling agent (reduces the bulk density of cosmetic products), adsorbent (acts as an absorbent; it absorbs water- and/or oil-soluble dissolved or finely dispersed substances).
