Litsea cubeba oil is an extract obtained by steam distillation from the leaves and fruits of Litsea cubeba. Litsea cubeba is a small tropical tree from the laurel family, which is native to Japan and China. Main components of the extracted oil are citral (about 80%), limonene, methyl heptenone, linalool, linalyl acetate.
The essential oil has an intensive lemony, fresh fruity scent and is used in cosmetic formulations. It has a calming, antiseptic, disinfecting and deodorizing effect.
