Dimethicone copolyol DHUPA butterate is used in cosmetic formulations. The substance is an ester of a dimethylsiloxane-glycol copolymer and fatty acids derived from dhupa butter (see below dhupa oil from the Vateria indica plant). Dimethicone copolyol Dhupa butterate acts as a hair conditioning agent (makes the hair easy to comb, smooth, soft and shiny and gives it volume). It also has a skin-caring and emollient effect (makes the skin supple and smooth).
