Dilaureth-4 dimonium chloride is a substance used in cosmetic formulations. The substance acts as an antistatic agent (reduces static charges by neutralizing the electrical charge on the surface, e.g. in hair). It also acts as an emulsifier (changes the interfacial tension of liquids such as water and oil so that they can be mixed together).
