Cera carnauba, the natural wax of the carnauba palm (Copernica prunifera) is used in cosmetic preparations. The carnauba wax makes the skin smooth and supple. Cera carnauba wax also acts as an emulsifier and film generator on skin, hair and nails. It is used e.g. in lipsticks.
