Acronym for NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as NSAIDs) induced cutaneous underlying diseases (e.g. urticaria/angiooedema). NIUA refers to all (non-immunologically triggered) hypersensitivity reactions in which the use of NSAIDs has led to a de novo development of urticaria/angioedema.

NECD, on the other hand, refers to all (also non-immunologically triggered) hypersensitivity reactions in which the application of NSAIDs has led to a worsening of pre-existing urticaria/angioedema.
