eczema, atopic (nummular atopic eczema). findings persisting since the 1st month of life in a now 22-month-old boy. sudden exacerbation with severe itching since 4 weeks. generalized clinical picture with red, scaly and weeping plaques up to 10 cm in diameter. red papules of 0.1-0.3 cm in size disseminated in the apparently free skin areas (see right forearm and face).

Eczema seborrhoeic of the infant: On the capillitium, also called gneiss, evenly distributed, greasy, coarse lamellar (not itchy) scales.

Dermatitis seborrhoides infantum. symmetric, cheek marked, blurred, itchy, scaly and locally erosive plaques and erythema in an 8-month-old girl. trunk and extremities are free. no family history of atopy.

Dermatitis seborrhoides infantum. generalized dermatitis with fine to coarse lamellar scaling on reddened skin in a 5-month-old boy. multiple lesions on trunk and extremities.
