PPG-77 trimethylolpropane ether (INCI)

PPG- bezeichnet das Akronym für „Polypropylenglycol“, dem Polymerisat von Propylenglycol (1,2-Propandiol), einem zweiwertigen Alkohol. Die Zahl hinter „PPG“ gibt die durchschnittliche Anzahl der Propylenglycol - Moleküleinheiten an, bei „PPG-77“ sind dies 77 Propylenglycol-Moleküleinheit. “trimethylolpropane (1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)propan)“ ist eine alkoholische Komponente der Ether-(Äther-)Vrbindung.

PPG-77 trimethylolpropane ether wird in kosmetischen Rezepturen eingesetzt. Das Substanzgemisch wirkt als Hautpflegemittel.
