Definition

Seit 2005 bekanntes 28 kDa großes Protein das aus der Kiwifrucht (Actinidia chinensis) isoliert wurde. Als Act d 5 gehört zu den wichtigsten Allergenen der Kiwi.  Kiwellin ist ein Markerallergen für eine pirmäre Kiwisensibilisierung.  Die biologische Bedeutung von Kwellin ist bisher unbekannt.
