ACTRT1-Gen

Das ACTRT1-Gen (ACTRT1 steht für Actin Related Protein T1) ist ein Protein kodierendes Gen, das auf Chromosom Xq25 lokalisiert ist.

Das ACTRT1-Gen kodiert ein Protein, das mit dem Zytoskelettprotein Beta-Actin verwandt ist. Dieses Protein ist ein Hauptbestandteil des Kelchs in der perinukleären Theca der Spermienköpfe von Säugetieren und hat daher wahrscheinlich eine Funktion bei der Spermatidenbildung. Dieses Gen ist intronlos und ähnelt einem verwandten Gen, das sich auf Chromosom 1 befindet.

Zu den Krankheiten, die mit ACTRT1 assoziiert sind, gehören:

• das Bazex-Dupré-Christol-Syndrom

Das kodierte Protein reguliert negativ die Hedgehog (SHH)-Signalübertragung.

Bindet an den Promotor des SHH-Signalvermittlers GLI1 und hemmt dessen Expression.
