(¤ 1876, † 1964) Dermatologist, working in Dessau, Berlin, Berkeley, Philadelphia, San Francisco Callomon was the first practising dermatologist in Dessau. Born in Breslau, he also studied medicine there. He received his dermatological training with Albert Neisser at the Wroclaw Dermatology Clinic. In 1908 he settled in the West Prussian town of Bromberg. In 1920, when West Prussia fell to Poland under the Treaty of Versailles, he left Bydgoszcz to settle in Dessau. In 1938 he had to give up his practice due to the racial legislation of the National Socialists. In 1940 he succeeded in emigrating to the USA. There he had to build up a new existence at the age of 64. Callomon died at the age of 88 in San Rafael/California.
